Floor Systems is a true Maine success story built on a foundation of family, community, and a genuine passion for flooring. The company's journey began in 1971 when Gill Veilleux started working in the flooring industry. Quickly rising through the ranks, Gill built a strong reputation and honed his expertise over 16 years.
In 1987, with the unwavering support of his wife Claire, Gill took a leap of faith and opened Floor Systems. One of the first "Factory Direct" flooring stores in the country, Floor Systems thrived on the principle of "cutting out the middleman" to offer customers the best possible value.
Growth was slow and deliberate, with Gill prioritizing customer satisfaction above all else. This commitment to service and quality has been a cornerstone of Floor Systems' success since its inception. Today, that same dedication continues under the leadership of the second generation.
Richard Veilleux, Gill's son, has been involved with Floor Systems since his teenage years, soaking up every aspect of the business. After earning a degree in Chemical Engineering, Rich gained valuable industry experience working as a manufacturer's representative for Shaw Floors. Combining his knowledge of flooring with his engineering background, Rich has become a specialist in hard-surface flooring, particularly tile, hardwood, and laminate.
From its humble beginnings in Lewiston to its current location in Lisbon, ME, Floor Systems has transformed into one of New England's premier flooring showrooms.
